To many people, AYIA NAPA is known as party central, a young people’s destination, full of scantily clad young Holidaymakers fuelled by alcohol, drunkenly weaving between the bars and clubs of the square. And yes, there is an element of that, however it is only a small facet of the personality of Ayia Napa, of which there are many.
Over recent years a large number of more sophisticated bars & restaurants have sprung up, places to find great food and cocktails, to people watch and just chill. Families have always been welcomed with open arms, with some incredible hotels and many family friendly tavernas and places to visit, including the THALASSA MUSEUM of the Sea, the PARKO PALIATSO Amusement Park, and the SCULPTURE PARK which is breathtaking with its views over the sparkling azure sea. The harbour is a very popular spot with Cypriots and tourists alike, the fish restaurants packed to the gills every weekend.
I confess I am a little in love with Ayia Napa, and as it is just 20 minutes drive from my house, I visit often. So I am sharing a few of my favourite pictures from our last visit a few weeks ago, in November 2016.
